Carol Services

Friday, December 12th, 2014

On Thursday 11th, we gave our first Carol Concert of the year at Cowick Church. Despite freezing weather outside, the choir gave a heart-warming performance of many traditional Carols as well as some rather more modern ones. Carolyn Storey gave a wonderful performance of Ave Maria by Caccini as well as stepping into the breach to stand in for Dennis Hardy(lost voice)  in a performance of “The Three Kings”. We would like to thank Cowick Church for the invitation to perform, and also for the wonderful refreshments put on after the performance.

The second concert of the Christmas season was held at the Brewers’ Arms on Tuesday 16th in front of a full house (with about 20 people standing at the back). The audience sang alternate carols and seemed to have a wonderful time….the choir certainly did.

We will be raising money for Martin House Children Hospice on the 20th December by Carol Singing in Selby. We start at 11.00 am and meet outside Wilkinsons. This is an ‘Open Event’ so please come along and join us.
